Feeling comfortable with your dentist starts with feeling heard. At Ava Dental, we take the time to understand what brings you in, what matters to you and what you need from your dental care.
We’ve been part of the Narre Warren community for more than 20 years, caring for people of different ages, backgrounds and dental needs. You can come to us for regular care, get help when something hurts or talk through options for more involved treatment with a team that wants you to feel at home here.
A good relationship with your dentist can make a real difference in how you feel about your care.
Our team brings different experience and interests to Ava Dental. Dr Danna Kim is known for her calm approach with nervous patients, while Dr Christina Thevapalan has a particular interest in children’s dentistry. Dr Jay Bariuad is interested in surgical care, including dental implants and complex extractions. Dr Darshika Gandhi has postgraduate training in oral pathology, and Dr Samin Zarei enjoys caring for children and helping people who feel anxious about dental treatment.
Please let us know if you would prefer to speak with a team member who speaks another language. Our team speaks English, Farsi, Arabic and Korean, helping more members of our community discuss their dental care in a language they feel comfortable using.
Dental anxiety can make getting the care you need difficult. For some treatments and circumstances, general anaesthetic may be an option, with treatment provided in a private hospital setting with appropriate medical support.
Missing teeth can affect how you eat, speak and feel about your smile. Dental implants can replace individual teeth or support full-arch replacement. We’ll assess your oral health and explain your treatment options.
Jaw pain, headaches and worn or damaged teeth can sometimes be associated with jaw joint problems or teeth grinding. We can assess your symptoms and discuss treatment options based on what we find.
Your options will depend on your oral health, how many teeth are missing and what you want from treatment. These may include a dental bridge, dental implants or full-arch tooth replacement. We’ll explain the differences and what each option would involve so you can make an informed decision.
Yes. Jaw pain and teeth grinding can have varying causes, so we’ll begin by examining your teeth, bite and jaw. Once we have a clearer picture of what may be contributing to your symptoms, we can discuss appropriate treatment options.
Professional teeth whitening may be an option if you would like to lighten the colour of your teeth. We offer both in-chair and take-home whitening and can discuss the differences before you decide which approach you prefer.
We accept private health funds and offer HICAPS claims processing at the practice. We also offer payment and financing options for eligible treatments, and our team can explain them before you begin care so you can plan your budget.
Our patients come from many cultures and backgrounds, and we want Ava Dental to feel welcoming to our community. Across the practice, team members speak several languages in addition to English, helping more patients ask questions and discuss their dental care comfortably.
Feeling welcome also means being able to tell us when you’re nervous, when something hasn’t worked for you before or when you need a little more time. We’ll listen. You don’t have to be a perfect dental patient to be treated with kindness and respect here.
Care That Starts with Listening
People experience dental care differently. Some want to understand every detail before deciding. Others feel anxious just walking through the door. Some families appreciate being able to communicate in a language that feels more familiar.
That’s why we begin with the person in front of us. We’ll explain what we find, answer your questions and give you the information you need to make decisions about your own care.
We also use modern dental technology throughout the practice to support diagnosis, treatment planning and the care we provide.
Making Dental Care More Accessible
Ava Dental accepts private health funds with convenient HICAPS claims processing. Eligible children may also be able to receive dental care through the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS).
Our team can discuss payment options that may apply to your treatment and provide information about applying for early release of superannuation for eligible dental care.
Located in the Pound Road Medical Centre, Ava Dental welcomes individuals and families from Narre Warren South and surrounding communities, including Narre Warren, Berwick, Clyde, Cranbourne, Hallam, Hampton Park and Lynbrook.
